NetSuite manufacturing module allows to bring to market products quickly and efficiently, using real-time insight into production management processes.
The system allows production management based on location. It also allows manufacturing the same product in different ways in each location, depending on the capabilities of the location. NetSuite gives you the ability to precisely define costs, as well as track and plan production. In addition, it allows to reduce the cost of sold goods, optimizing costs thanks to built-in quality management.

- Real-time production data update,
- Many options for managing discrete production processes,
- Batch planning,
- Serial production – Batch Processing.
BOM & Routes
BOM - Assembly Items Bill of materials (BOM) is settled and maintain in NetSuite. Appling this approach ensures consistency during creating and editing all information required for efficient management of multi-level BOMs structures. In the system are available advanced options such as the ability to mark items as phantoms, define expected performance, maintain patches or set performance and expiration dates. NetSuite also allows to set up more advanced BOMs. Routes Routes function in NetSuite enables to easy define person, machine center, work center and time needed for good production. These information in combination with costs templates determine the expected cost of labor, machinery and indirect costs. Thanks to that NetSuite enables tracking appropriate level of detail of costs from the production process. Using advanced manufacturing functions, the system allows to automatically generate finished performance schedule. In addition, Routes function can be defined in many ways depending on the location.
Item Management
NetSuite supports manufacturing by indicating to the user which materials and components to use to produce a given product. The system presents a screen of the item which is adapted to this particular type of product and only shows the necessary information. Using Suite Flow, you can easily set up automatic item numbering, hide or require additional fields and automate the approval process.
Document management
File Cabinet is a module which is the central repository of all documents, files and attachments needed to run a business. You can send files manually to the system and add it to almost every record in NetSuite including customers, suppliers, order etc. Files are stored in folders with unique security permissions.
Engineering Change Orders
The module allows users to record, document and share changes and then automatically implement them. Change orders can be categorized by type. They can update process and documentation changes (in addition to significant product changes). In conjunction with the Quality and Case management functions, the system provides full control over the product life cycle.
Planning and schedules
Forecasting demand The module offers few ways to calculate and forecast demand based on historical demand, open possibilities or manually added/imported sales forecasts. Regardless the type and basis of generated forecast the solution allows to review and edit forecast demand before proceeding with delivery planning. It allows to set the system to create demand based on sales forecasts. Material requirement planning (MRP) MRP is one of the standard methods of comparing supply and demand. The demand planning function in NetSuite enables checking inventory and security stocks, reviewing demand and analyzing supply before generating planned orders. During the planning process, you can adapt the system to automatically create transfer orders between locations. Inventory of many locations The functionality gives the possibility of easy define many inventory localizations with real-time visibility. Localizations can be organized hierarchically, and a country can be defined for global companies. During the planning process you can adjust the system to automate creation of transfer orders between localizations. Demand planning methods
- Linear regression - based on historical demand and the least squares method.
- Moving average - based on the moving average of historical demand to calculate the total average required inventory level and then forecast future inventory levels.
- Seasonal average - based on previous demand and determines seasonal trends in inventory flows and then forecasts future inventory levels.
- Sales forecast - the option uses forecast sales data (such as opportunities, estimates, etc.) to forecast inventory demand.
Supply planning After generating planned demand creation of supplies is a simple process. With one click order are created. Depending on some parameters and workflows connected with approvals the system will generate planned, company or exempt orders. Placing orders A result of planning process simplifies the process of purchase, transfer orders and work orders for the user creation and uses few methods of notifying the need of taking action (e.g. notification or e-mail). Placing an order is simple - all you must do is select and confirm the order you want to place. Task Schedule Task Schedule in NetSuite shows the popular view of the Gantt chart of production with the option of manually dragging operations so that it can be changed at any time. Real-time planning. Planning mechanism works in real-time and can be set to automatically plan production orders when they are created or when orders reach a certain status. After saving the order each operation is planned according to defined parameters. Manufacturing Workbench Comprehensive NetSuite functionality provides one place where most configurations are carried out. In this module it is possible to configure:
- standards and their launch
- delay and hold time
- batch
- resource requirements and work with priorities
- detailed work instructions
- inspection plans with an acceptable tolerance
Real-time actualization from production The production list view shows all current manufacture orders and automatically highlights potential areas for problems or errors.
Work Order Management
Discrete manufacturing NetSuite offers many managing discrete production (assembly) processes options regardless of its size or complexity. Besides of the specifics of production NetSuite has functions that provide the information you need. Batch planning In case of manufacturers who produce goods in batches in order to match their performance with their machines (in particular: food and drink producers, but in a wide range), this can easily be achieved by determining the appropriate batch parameters. Batch Processing NetSuite Advanced Manufacturing gives flexibility in defining batch size during the manufacturing process and automatically creates batch records. Each batch is processed and traced in unique way and in combination with batch tracking function ensures full traceability. Machines, employees, work centers and resources are next planned and assigned to each single batch. The solution ensures that all information is tracked and updated in real time.
