Starting in September 2025, Dynamics 365 Business Central users will be able to test a new AI-powered feature – Advanced Tell Me. In October, it will become available to all users as part of the standard update.
Advanced Tell Me is an enhancement of the existing Tell Me search, which so far has worked mainly through simple keyword matching. The new version introduces contextual search – the ability to find pages and reports based on the meaning of the query, not just the exact words typed.
This means users no longer need to remember the precise name of a report or page – entering an approximate phrase is enough. The system understands the intent and suggests the most relevant results. For example, typing “stock” will display not only the Stockkeeping Units page, but also reports such as Inventory – List or Inventory Sales Statistics.
Advanced Tell Me – Use Cases
The new feature eliminates a common challenge for ERP users – the need to remember the exact names of reports and pages. It is particularly useful:
- for new employees who are just learning the system,
- in departments where different terms are used for the same processes,
- in situations where quick access to data is crucial without the need to browse through menus.
